Smoke Gets in Your Eyes: And Other Lessons from the Crematory by Caitlin Doughty
Did not finish book. Stopped at 49%.
I like the author's message about reframing the way we think about death (death anxiety and denial of mortality). I liked learning about the death industry and about the different historical and cultural practices surrounding death.
I really had to force myself to get as far as I did in this book because I didn't enjoy learning about her personal experiences. Some of her personal experiences felt random and unnecessary, and almost a bit too perky. It adds her unique perspective, but I didn't get the point. Was there a point?
