How to Get Away with Marriage

3.5

This is my first novel by author Fenna Edgewood and it is a lovely and wholesome novel.

Tropes:
Fake dating (marriage)
Enemies to lovers
Hidden identity
Slight rags to riches

A sweet story that surrounds two individuals who have very different social standings. I really enjoyed the story and felt it was well written however I just didn’t love the characters.

The plot was interesting and I loved how the two main characters interacted with each other, it was really sweet to see as you can definitely see their relationship progress and develop as the story goes on.

However, I felt that the story dived into secondary characters too much, I would’ve loved to learn more about Triss and Hugh as I felt that there was a lot of information dumping and not a lot of expansion on it.

By the time I finished the book I didn’t really feel anything anything and although it’s a short sweet book I could barely remember anything that had happened. It is enjoyable though and I do recommend it if you like a Cinderella type historical romance.

I do intend to read the series from book 1 so maybe when I do my opinions will change but this is my review of this book alone.

Will I reread in the future? Maybe if I start the series from book 1.

Will I read anything else by the author? Yes, I rather like the authors writing so will maybe read another book by her. I am also aware that this book is number six in the series so I might go back and start from #1.
