Lean Mean Thirteen
by Janet Evanovich
I'd give this book a rating of 3.5 rather than three, to be honest. I've been a little harsh about the series. Quite frankly, I still find the books to be entertaining. Characters are still rich in personality and nothing ever seems very contradictory to me. I really find them a joy and I'm kind of sad to be nearly done with what's been published so far!
That said, this is another instance where I feel I'm missing a piece or two of the pineapple upside-down cake (which I don't even like). There are references to past events that I'm certain take place in the between-official-books stories, and I just don't have them. Call me lazy, but it just makes life easier to follow the number pattern of the series itself.
And I am still looking forward to cracking open the next book tomorrow morning :)
