One Night More: A Hotel Arroyo Novella by Sabrina Sol

4.0

description
I really enjoyed this little slice of goodness to tide me over until Ms. Sol comes out with her next book. I’d been hoarding this on my kindle for a rainy day, and since I was spending quality time in waiting rooms yesterday, I figured I was ready for an escape. I wasn’t disappointed.

This is a sweet novella with excellent Latinx representation (I can't help but get excited when reading a story that makes me feel seen), and Ms. Sol stays true to that novella length without sacrificing solid character work. Their Firsts (meet/kiss/love scene) were believable and strong enough to allow the reader to believe that Mateo and Vanessa wanted more from each other. That their work is such a valid obstacle towards that romance only made the story stronger, since I always appreciate seeing full professional and personal lives outside of the romance. Now here is where I usually point out the things that I didn’t like, but it was more a case of “I wanted more,” not that I was disappointed in what was on the page. I wanted more scenes of them together. Even the quick resolution managed to still ring true in some good emotional scenes that I could connect with.

This novella is set in the Hotel Arroyo, which I’m hoping means it’s the start of a new series, because I want to check in again and again, for longer visits next time. If you love novellas that give you the full length feels in an itty bitty page count, I think you’ll enjoy this.
