“Has he ever done anything to make you feel that way?” My smile is tight when I look up at him. “Haven’t you got it yet? My brain doesn’t run on logic. It runs on catastrophizing, negativity, and throws in the sheer terror of mortality every now and then to keep things interesting.”
Not Catching Love by Saxon James | Book 5 of Accidental Love
I will be totally honest with you, I was a little nervous going into this book solely because I had such high expectations for it. We spend this entire series catching glimpses of Xander and everything he's going through and even though he is a secondary character until now, you spend the entire time rooting for him, too. When I tell you that this book exceeded my expectations, I mean it wholeheartedly. It was absolutely beautiful and had everything that I wanted and more. I loved watching the path that Xander took to better himself (maybe with a little push in that direction) and the way that Derek showed that he valued not only Xander but HIMSELF.
One of my absolute FAVORITE parts of this entire book was watching Xander and Seven's (and Molly's and Derek's) relationship come full circle. It was perfect. Their love for each other runs so deep and watching them grow and heal and have partners that love and accept them (and their relationship) was so incredibly heartwarming.
Lastly, the ending! Oh my forking god. Seeing all of the Bertha boys, seeing them HAPPY AND THRIVING and seeing Aggy actually put them all in her will was the perfect full circle, closing moment for this series. And. AND. THE SIDE BY SIDE HOUSES FOR XANDER AND DEREK / MOLLY AND SEVEN WAS PERFECT. THE TALKED ABOUT DOUBLE PROPOSAL. EVERYTHING. The ending wrapped the series up with such a beautiful little bow and I am just so happy.
It took me a few days to be able to wrap my head around this enough to write my review but what I will say is this: don't be afraid to go into this book. It is everything we wanted and more.
Thank you so much to ForewordPR and Saxon for an early copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
