A Vow of Embers by Sariah Wilson
4.25
adventurous dark emotional mysterious tense medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

The amount of anger, miscommunication, lack of communication, and just overall grumpiness in the love story for the first half of the book was irritating (given the cliffhanger from book 1 I expected this going into it). Eventually it gets better. The other plotlines of the book were great! The characters are lovable and I want good things for all of them. The short chapters and writing style make it to where I could hardly put it down for wanting to know what would happen next- I almost finished all 570 pages in a day. The end wasn't nearly as much of a cliffhanger as the first but it was satisfying. I desperately want to know how things resolve- but if it turns out that in book 3 Lia and Xander do the deed and it's a spiritual revelation and everything is made right I'm going to be mad, lol. I'm sure that it wont be that lazy given the plot thus far but you never know. Hopefully around this time next year I will have all my answers *fingers crossed*.
