Arcadia by Tom Stoppard
5.0

I read this about ten years ago, and all I could remember was my heartbreak at the end. Reading it out loud with a friend this time, I better appreciated how side-splittingly funny every line of dialogue is. Spare props and director's notes, but used to maximum effect. How could I forget Plautinus and Lightning, the live paperweight turtles?

Friend, recovering breath from laughter: Lol I thought you said this play was sad?

Me, thinking of our heroine and our hermit: *sobs*
