The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer
by Michelle Hodkin
'Even the trees were wearing black.'
This novel revolves around the main character, Mara.
She wakes up in a hospital with no memory, to be told that she was involved in an accident with her two friends, but she was the only one that survived.
Before the incident, she was experimenting with a spirit board and both of them were involved.
Since then, she has been left with the power of seeing dead people and also seeing how they die which kicks in as soon as she starts at a new school.
Noah, a popular guy in her class, won't leave her alone.
This book is the weirdest blend of cliche and uniqueness I've ever read, it was absolutely brilliant!
One of my newest favourite series, 5 stars.
