This book was a bit slow, but totally worth the read! Where I thought it was going to have a focus of typical Nigerian parents pushing their daughter to find a husband, it was so much more than that. Yinka went through the struggles that we all do - trying to find love, wondering why we can't find it, are we ever worth finding love, losing ourselves then finding ourselves all through the journey. I LOVED the way they mention how being light or dark skinned can affect your self worth as a black woman in this world and how Yinka worked through therapy (something that has been largely stigmatized and taboo within the black community) to help find herself and realize her worth and beauty. I honestly was not expecting to love the way the book concluded, especially considering how it was starting off slow, but I'm so glad I kept going and continued on the journey with Yinka.
