Genuinely one of the best books I've ever read. It's a red flag book, for sure. and if you don't like books with unlikable or unreliable narrators, or books without plot, this one isn't for you. But I found that Moshfegh's prose was gripping from start to finish.
Graphic: Mental illness and Suicidal thoughts
Moderate: Sexual content and Toxic relationship
This book is about trauma and suicidal ideation from the point of view of a deeply unlikable white woman set right before 9/11 in NYC. Proceed with caution.
