i appreciate the author’s transparency in her experience writing this. i think she could tell when her connections between transness and rural life were becoming kind of a reach and toned it down… 

that being said this book was enjoyable and relatable. some of the themes were reminiscent of my last read (Rubyfruit Jungle by Rita Mae Brown) in a cool way
