Wow. What a compelling finish to a series that I’ve truly loved! 🖤 I just love the main character Pip so so much. The ending to this series was much darker than the first two books, and I found myself feeling so sad and worried for Pip, knowing she was isolating herself from everyone who cared for her - in her mind, to protect them - when she really needed their help and support 🥺
Pip went from an eager true-crime enthusiast who believed in the criminal justice system, to someone who was jaded and cynical, believing that justice could only be served outside the law. What didn’t change? She truly never gave up, and put her family and friends’ safety before herself, always.
There were a lot of heartbreaking moments in this book, but I think there was some hope/light at the end of the tunnel with the ending. I would have screamed if there wasn’t an epilogue (even though it was a little short for my taste 🥲).
Anyway, I’m so glad that I read this series, and I hope that you will too!
Read this series if you like:
- the Truly Devious series
- Big Little Lies
- anything by Karen McManus
