I loved Bridget, she is relatable, funny, and I absolutely loved the movie as I was younger. However, I found out through this book that the author is an Islamophobe. Case in point:
1. “Weird headscarves”
2. “It makes you want to immigrate to a vicious Muslim regime, where at least all the women are treated like social outcasts.”
Unfortunately I was really enjoying the book until I saw these comments and was completely disappointed in the author for including these comments.
Thank goodness I bought this series secondhand. Since I paid for the books anyways, I’m going to continue with the series. I hope I don’t stumble into Islamophobic comments like these as I go on.
