The classic book by Schroedinger speculates on life before Watson and Crick and the discovery of the structure of DNA. the book summarizes in physical and chemical outline what is necessary for and understanding of biological life as a replicating molecule being a key ingredient. This was before DNA was figured out and shows that Schroedinger had a good insight to life's nature. Also some biological detail to this curious scientist's life.
