Heir, Apparently by Kara McDowell

5.0

Heir, Apparently picks up months after the conclusion of The Price and the Apocalypse. Wren seeks out Comet (and Theo, of course :) ) as Theo and his siblings are visiting Canada. When Wren and Theo are photographed together by the paparazzi, they’re forced to have Wren travel to London with Theo in order to help best manage the response and provide some temporary protection for Wren. On their way to London, their plane goes down and they must survive on the island as they await rescue.

While we met a lot of side characters during Wren and Theo’s journey in TPATA, we get to see a lot more of Wren’s best friend Naomi, along with Wren and Theo’s families.

If you loved TPATA, you must check out the sequel, not simply as a follow-up from the cliffhanger of the first, but because it’s another adventure/conflict packed journey that Wren and Theo again must navigate through together. Even with the extended cast in this book, Wren and Theo are still able to get so much time together in the story as they strive to work out and process the events from TPATA.

I missed Wren and Theo so much and was so happy to be reunited with them. The sequel is a different story from the first and I was really curious how the story and pacing would compare without the threat of an impending apocalypse, but Kara McDowell was able to create another face paced, twist and turn story from the beginning to the end.

THANK YOU SO MUCH to Wednesday Books and NetGalley for the Advanced Reader Copy in exchange for an honest review.
