Generation Dead by Daniel Waters
5.0
If the Twilight saga had been written like this book, I would have loved it and I'd be singing its praises instead of going "Oh, how shitty". This is an awesome, awesome book. It's similar to Twilight in the sense that there are undead teenagers, but that's about it.
Basically, there are teenaged zombies. For some reason, teenagers have been coming back from the dead. Instead of going on mad, brain-eating rampages, though, they're attempting to fit in and be normal. One girl zombie dresses to get attention, and a boy zombie tries out for the football team. The main storyline involves how people react to them - some townsfolk are all, "I don't want no stinkin' zombie interactifyin' with my kids, y'all", while others form support groups and try to get people to see that zombies aren't bad, they're just "differently biotic". There are a couple of plotlines that are pretty easy to follow - goth girl <3s zombie boy who plays football, star football player secretly <3s goth girl, and goth girl + gg's best friend deal with the fact that their former bestie is now differently biotic. I thought it was awesome, and I really liked it lots.
