The Schwa Was Here by Neal Shusterman

5.0

Loved the tough, slangy, old Brooklyn voice of the narrator, a young man who has a friend who is mysteriously unnoticeable and who falls in love with a strong, feisty blind girl. This Brooklyn predates gentrification; the Gowanus Canal is still a toxic, deserted zone and restaurants more likely to serve pizza by the slice.
