Three Men in a Boat by Jerome K. Jerome

I only read this because I own To Say Nothing of the Dog by Connie Willis, and I figured I might as well enlighten myself on the origins of the title. I should have just Wikipedia-d this because I was literally bored out of my mind. Funny at times. Mostly, I just found it slightly amusing but not amusing enough to distract me from the fact that it was as literally about three men in a boat (to say nothing of the dog).

Edit: Upon further research, this started as a serious travel guide before it became the humorous novel it is today. It shows!
