Lying on the Couch by Irvin D. Yalom

4.0

This is a must read for people who dabble in philosophy, the helping professions, or think meaningfully about anything. This particular book is focused on the thoughts that the therapist has in session - helpful for counsellors-in-training, insightful for seasoned therapists, and enlightening to those outside of the field. Yalom is a major contributor to the fields of counseling and psychology (and tries to be in psychiatry - his own profession). He is a talented author and a delight to read.
