It is jarring how relatable this book for us fangirls. Devoting ourselves to our idol, borderline worshipping. My cheeks heated at nearly every page, stinging like some invisible hand has slapped me over and over through my one-sit reading. This book is too realistic that it's raw—from idol cancelling to unromanticization of depression, it mirrors on our lives. Our idols, our lives. They coexist, but never blend together—because their life is theirs, and our life is ours. Oftenly I'd protest this in other books, but I do love how some problems is still unresolved by the end of the book because it is not the fans' (for this instance, Akari) business to snoop on their idol's private life. Thus, they—and we—don't know a thing about them. This is a one-sitting reality check and I urge my fellow fangirls to peek in Akari's story. Maybe you'll see yourselves in her.
