An insightful look into the lived experience of a woman suffering from dementia. Maud, the unreliable narrator, is convinced her friend Elizabeth is missing. While it is clear from the outset that this isn't actually the case, Maud's persistence is perhaps triggered by a subconscious need to resolve the unsolved mystery of her sister's dissapearence 70 years ago. The narrative swings from present to past as Maud attempts to solve the mystery and navigate daily life as her memory degenerates.
