The Flintstones, Vol. 2: Bedrock Bedlam by Mark Russell, et. al. is a free NetGalley e-comicbook that I read in early October.

After the progressive, commercial changes made to Bedrock during Volume 1, a whole slew of different stories occur: the Great Gazoo is trying to create natural evolution for cavemen and women against the beetle-like invaders who may have an effect on it; a reverend for the Church of Gerald is tentatively happy to absolve the sins of Bedrock's citizens (including Fred Flintstone's boss, Mr. Slate) with there being a whole lot of references toward the somewhat depressing, early-dystopian-like fIlm, Ace in the Hole; Wilma returning to a pre-civilization 'organic' farm and taking up abstract art; Fred being coaxed to bowl while his sentient armadillo ball is chided by other prehistoric animal appliances; and the Flintstones having hipsters neighbors. Very deep cuts to present-day culture, for sure, in its terribly smart and witty story concepts.
