Didn’t really know what to expect from this book when buying it. It turned out to be an amazing read. I am a big fan of the writing style. The author mainly uses interviews and research throughout the book and tied it together with some anecdotes. This makes the book feel like a story despite it being quite factual in nature.

This book looks at several different causes of depression & anxiety and even proposes some solutions. The author challenges some common misconceptions about depression and some more lesser known treatment methods which are not supported as much as it is difficult to profit from them.

Some of the solutions proposed by the author were often quite left-leaning. Therefore I found it difficult to differentiate if this was the author trying to advocate his political beliefs or if they just ended up being left-leaning by chance. Either way I found the solutions quite interesting and I was grateful that the author even attempted to come up with solutions as I find people often like to complain but don’t come up with any ideas themselves.

I would recommend this to anyone as mental illness really does affect us all in the end.
