I'm only rating this so high because I loved it at 16 or 17 when I read it. Horses, romance, animal communication - it had a lot of themes that I loved back than - who wouldn't want their own sabre toothed tiger at their beck and call? Over the years I've found better written romances, historical fictions, fantasy books, adventure books, but I'll rate this high for being important to me at the time I read it.
