This is absolutely a unique book where each chapter focuses a different type of beast (impasse, joyous, etc) and tells us all about them. There is also a main plot line running throughout that ties them all together. I loved how unique this was, I’ve never read anything like it. I loved the physical descriptions of each type of beast as well as learning about their nature.
As to the main story, I did find it confusing in some places and a little hard to follow. I think I got there in the end, but I think it could have been written a little clearer in some places.
I would definitely read more by this author.
