Rama II by Gentry Lee, Arthur C. Clarke

2.0

Honestly, 2 stars might be too generous. The backstories were tortuous and terrible, the women were caricatures, as if the authors had only heard about women before and were writing them based on vague rumors of how females behave. The way race was addressed was probably liberal at the time but is somewhere between patronizing and offensive now. There were elements of the ship itself that were interesting, but this was much too much a slog with way too many abandoned plot threads and loose ends to be in any way satisfying.
