A powerful centuries old fae(?) FMC plagued with fear of her sadistic warlock ex finding her again to torture her until she agrees to join him in a power play to conquer the realms.

A talking “cat” who is more than just a pet. Mysterious family heritage that needs explanation as the FMC was orphaned before learning who or what she is. While trying to avoid capture, she finds that she is on the radar of several people who are unaware of how powerful she really is.

When her hot new were-shifter boyfriend finds out his kitty shifter is in trouble, she reluctantly gave him the choice to walk away or go all in. The price of his silence is lethal. If he talks, he dies. Her true powers are not known by anyone outside her little circle. She has lots of enemies and she doesn’t want to lose him, but if he cannot keep her true magic secret, she will have no choice. It’s her life and her friends and family who will suffer. Regardless of how she feels for him, if he betrays her, it will be the end for him.

This new to me series has action, intrigue, lots of fun magical elements, a powerhouse FMC, romance, questionable attraction to a “sort of” enemy, and a relationship I am afraid to ship as I have a feeling that her attraction to her roommates family member is reciprocated and he’s as dangerous as she is.
