Graveyard Shift by M.L. Rio is a novella set in a small college town and follows five characters, all working late-night jobs, who discover a freshly dug grave during a smoke break. The group—a journalist, a librarian-turned-receptionist, a rideshare driver, a scientist-turned-church steward, and a bar keeper—investigate the mystery surrounding the grave, which seems connected to a gravedigger and a professor running a secret experiment.

My only gripe with this story is that it isn't a fully fledged novel! What an incredible premise and story and it seems a right shame that it was cut right when things were getting good. I think M.L. Rio does a great job of creating characters that are distinct and complex, and somehow still fully formed even in a novella. Please make this a full novel, M.L. Rio!
