Pure joy and absolute devastation all wrapped up in just shy of 700 pages.
I was blown away by the character development in this book - so much is thrown at you in terms of plot reveals, storyline arcs and downright crazy twists, but damn this woman knows how to write a fierce as hell protagonist. Aelin was already very quickly becoming one of my all time favourite leading ladies, but this may have just secured her position at the top.
