The book did some interesting things--especially toward the end--but unfortunately, there were big chunks of boring narrative that did not endear the main character to the reader. By the time the interesting reveals happened, it just wasn't enough to save the experience. It's certainly not a bad book (the writing is fine), but it's dull to read in a lot of places.
