The Rules Do Not Apply
by Ariel Levy
I've been in a reading slump, I think it's fair to say I started and didn't finish about 30 books last year. So it was such a pleasure to get entirely sucked into a story, read it all in one sitting, and be awake past bedtime to finish it.
This is a devastating story, told with admirable honesty. Truly, I can't imagine laying bare what Levy does. Beautiful, deeply honest, and written so well. A perfect read for fans of dark, challenging memoirs, specifically anyone who loved Wild by Cheryl Strayed.
