I buddy-read this with the same friend I've been going through Ballad of Sword and Wine with, and I'm glad I finally caught up and finished this one! This is such an interesting approach to urban fantasy and supernatural romance. The writing is such that, even when I've been able to correctly guess where certain elements of the story are going, how they get there tends to surprise me and nothing feels static or boring. I did guess a lot of this but it was refreshing to see in on the right track with my guesses!

My one major annoyance with this book is that there are a LOT of editing and formatting errors. It's glaring throughout the book. Pay your people more and treat them better than this, Seven Seas.
