The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
by Mark Twain
Huckleberry Finn is the sequel to Tom Sawyer. It’s told first person in Huck’s voice . The story is a series of adventures undertaken by Huck, Jim, a runaway slave, and Tom Sawyer. The secondary characters are mostly over-the-top stereotypes, and I don’t mean that in a bad way. There’s plenty of commentary concerning slavery, con men, poverty, religion, and life in rural America in the first half of the 19th century. Highly recommended.
