homosexual 's review for:
You May Now Kill the Bride
by R.L. Stine
I did not think I was going to binge read the entire thing in three hours but here I am.
4/5 stars just because the ending is really rushed and I felt like there was a missed opportunity for one of Stine's classic twist endings.
So there is magic in this as the Fear family can cast spells, and this magic does play a pretty big role in both the past and present stories. I wish I knew that going in because wow was it fun to read about. It is a Stine book so you aren't going to get like heavy complex characters because he is better with plot than characters, but still I liked the bits of characters we do see. I also really liked the narration of the story, like the characters were telling us the story directly.
I was NOT expecting to like this as much as I did, but once the twists start coming I just had to keep reading and before I knew it I was done. Definitely check this out if you want a quick and fun spooky book! I already kinda wanna re-read it to see if I missed on any foreshadowing lol
