Kind of hated it. This isn't the Benny Imura saga from Maberry' s Rot and Ruin series. Maybe it's the origin story, and it is dark, dark, dark. It isn't badly written, the plot works, but this is a sad, ugly, frightening tale and I don't want to read the next one in the series.
