A blend of dark academia and fantasy that was really successful imo. The magic wasn't looked over and actually made sense while not overlooking the need to build that dark academia vibe.
Engaging and intriguing while also a bit upsetting cause the social commentary? too real. that made it all the more exceptional.
the characters all feel quite real and well fleshed out without seeming predictable.
the book is also very quotable haha <3
