OK it's pretty clear that this author knows how to do a dark Gothic romance. There's brooding, there's tension, there's despair. I feel like if Poe wrote contemporary romance this might be exactly what he gave us.
Now I need to mention, it's not really my style of writing. Tortured and determined can grate on my nerves a bit. Having said that this book was well done. I found the flow more enjoyable than the previous book. I also found it interesting that the issue du jour for the town was new and yet still tied in with the previous book as well.
You get an FMC hell bent on revenge, an MMC that kinda shouldn't be, and an attraction that won't be denied... all in a pretty morose and macabre setting where things go from bad to worse.
