The Day We Met by Rowan Coleman

3.0

*I received the Kindle version of the book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review*

This is the story of Claire and her recent diagnosis of early onset Alzheimer's. She is married to Greg and has an adult daughter (Caitlin) from a previous relationship and a 3 yr old daughter (Esther) with Greg. It was interesting to read about Alzheimer's from a different perspective, although at times I was a bit confused. The chapters are told from different people's views and at different times. I sometimes wouldn't know when the chapter I was reading was talking place. I also confused Claire and Caitlin and few times since there names are similar. I would read few paragraphs before realizing who I was reading about.

The book had a lot of potential but it didn't move me in quite the way some of the other reviewers were moved by it. I found a lot of it unrealistic. How many times could Claire sneak out of the house and get lost before they realized something would have to be done? There was also somewhat of a "twist" at the end which was very predictable for me (and also unrealistic).

I liked Caitlin's character a lot and I would have liked for there to me more chapters written from Greg's perspective. The book was just okay for me.
