The Last Battle by C.S. Lewis
5.0

Wow! I'm blown away by the mature themes seen in this book. Sadly, people in Narnia are questioning if Aslan really was who he said he was & are even questioning if he actually existed. This has placed Narnia into a sad state of affairs. Considering I know the Bible (the text this is pulled from, quite loosely, but still is allegorical), I knew what was to happen before I read the story. I found the battle scenes to be a little much to call this a children's book, however, I do feel that is important as a closing and final wrap-up for the series. It would be good if this were read to slightly older children with a discussion afterwards to make sure they are understanding it and the heavier meaning behind it (if one wishes to impart that knowledge to their child). The description of the false Aslan was shocking and quite strong and even had me thinking about how Aslan was originally described and his characteristics in comparison. Overall a wonderful end to a great series.
