Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac
by Gabrielle Zevin
I finished this one in the wee hours of January 1st and found it very engaging. A bad fall down the steps leads to spotty, retrograde amnesia for teenage Naomi. While she possesses some memories, she's shocked to realize her parents have been divorced long enough for her mother to remarry and start a new family. She certainly doesn't remember her best friend, boyfriend, or a mysterious fellow who was there around the time of her accident. It's a page-turner and the protagonist is realistically self-absorbed.
