This was a cute, little second-chance romance. I'm not usually a fan of the altruistic "I'm breaking up with you because it's better for you, but I'm not going to tell you why" thing that happens in a lot of second-chance romances, but I do think that it actually made sense in Chloe's case with what was happening with her family and how devoted of a guy Bentley was. However, Bentley's reciprocal altruistic breakup near the end of the book was...

For me personally, the extra drama with Chloe's ex was a bit much and didn't really feel as flushed out as everything else in the story. Maybe because there was already so much focus on other things. I'm not sure. But it felt like too much outside stuff happening.
Overall, I did enjoy this. Not my favorite book in the series, but it was a sweet read.

He's worried about Chloe losing her job and not having enough money to keep her mom in the care facility.....when he's a millionaire? He literally pays for her mom's care three chapters later, so why wouldn't he have thought of that before breaking up with Chloe so she wouldn't risk losing her job? Made no sense. For me personally, the extra drama with Chloe's ex was a bit much and didn't really feel as flushed out as everything else in the story.
