This book is stunning. The story is beautifully crafted, sad and heartbreaking. It's a devastating portrayal of a part of the world during World War II that I didn't know much about, but learned a lot throughout. The split narrative effectively captures each character and their journey. I was truly moved by each of their stories and the way their paths intertwined. I cried at multiple parts but just couldn’t put it down.
