Exactly the same pattern as in, apparently, all of Ali's books (main female character is all traumas and personal blockages, main male character is always interested in the girl ages before she even realizes he exists). The sexual part was painful/disturbing to read for me, but that's just my subjective opinion. Maybe you guys enjoy it if you like kink relationships.
