Dangerously Tempting
by Alexa L. Stephen
As a newcomer to this author's work, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the writing and the engaging storyline. The protagonist, Amelia, has a relatable sense of unease, always anticipating that things will take a turn for the worse, especially when her life starts to feel too perfect. This is particularly true with regards to Jameson, a man she meets at a work conference who seems almost impossibly charming and attractive.
Their initial agreement is for a one-night stand, but the chemistry between them is too strong to resist pursuing something more. However, Jameson has been dishonest about his true identity, and Amelia is shocked to discover that the stranger she thought she'd never see again is actually a part of her daily life.
The "meet cute" between the two characters is genuinely adorable, and their banter showcases Amelia's quick wit and Jameson's easygoing nature. The story flows smoothly, making for an effortless and enjoyable read. Overall, I appreciated the natural progression of the narrative and the well-developed personalities of the main characters.
I'm giving it a four star just because I feel like the start of the story could have been given a little bit more story and context before jumping into their one night stand and their love story to catch the readers attention a little bit more. Other then that this is an amazing book and story to follow and get lost in.
