I'm not sure where to start, here. I think I have many of the same issues as I did with Lagercrantz's last novel. Blomkvist and Salander just aren't in the story enough. We spend too much time with other characters, and some of the POV jumps are a little ridiculous (I'm thinking of a particular scene close to the end where we jump POV characters in the middle of the scene for no reason at all). In fact, Blomkvist could've not even been in the novel at all and it wouldn't really have changed the story much.

Then there's the plot. Things happen, sure, and there are even two storylines to follow, but...why? The description of this book makes it seem like there will be a huge focus on Salander and her past, but Salender is only really important to the one storyline that has nothing to do with her or her past. The other one could move long without her (or, again, Blomkvist), and we'd still have a novel. This made the climax deeply unsatisfying.

So it moved along quickly, but the entire time I was reading I had the feeling of "this is it?" in the back of my head.
