I finally picked this up since it had been recommended to me by numerous groups and algorithms. I feel like I either missed something or just didn't get it. It didn't seem like the author grew as a person (as many reviews suggest) and there isn't much time spent on describing harrowing artic conditions. in fact, much of the story seems to be set in summer and focuses on external characters. It didn't feel like there was any kind of conclusion to the overall story, or story lines. This would really be better served as a day in the life of rural norther Norway.
