The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende
4.0
I had heard a lot of great things about Isabel Allende as an author and so I bought this book first as it was listed as her debut novel. But, before I started it I learned that she actually wrote 2 other books later on that served as prequels and so really this was book 3 of a trilogy. So I had to wait to read this one!
While it was not my favorite of the series (Portrait in Sepia was) it was still a really great book fully earning 4 stars.
All 3 books are really lovely 4-5 star reads and technically could be read standalone but if you can read Daughter of Fortune, then Portrait in Sepia before Starting this one (The House of the Spirits).
