I had a lot of fun with this one! I loved Viola and Jesse. I loved that they both worked in the videogame industry. I loved that they were rivals and ended up having to be in each other's presence all the time on a team building retreat for work. And I LOVED that our main characters had a shared love of a book series. The whole plot was executed flawlessly.
Viola is a very down-to-earth FMC. She never once annoyed me. She seemed to know exactly what she wanted. She was very confident, and I like that in a character.
Jesse was also great. In terms of an MMC, he gave off no red flags. I loved that he was so passionate about his work and wanted to create the best version of this book-to-videogame adaptation.
I have zero qualms with our main characters.... shocker 😂 This was just a genuinely fun read and the relationship that was brewing between Viola and Jesse never once stressed me out.
I would looooove to see a fully fleshed out version of this novella! I really enjoyed getting tidbits of Viola's backstory and would love to know more about her and Jesse.
