On a Sunbeam by Tillie Walden

2.0

I found this really hard to read, although the emotional beats were good and I teared up. But the art was muddy to me -- I had a really time distinguishing characters a lot of the time -- and the pacing was all kinds of off, in ways that make the webcomic origin uncomfortably clear. The world building is largely laughable and sometimes nonsensical, which was another ding. But I am sure I have students who will be all in for the feels and the fact that this is a queer (women only) world filled with women who are strong and kind and racially diverse, even if it's sort of confusing that Elliot is nonbinary in a seemingly unary world.
