kayleeroper 's review for:
The Days of Abandonment
by Elena Ferrante
Hard to rate her earlier work without holding it up against the masterpiece of the Neapolitan Novels — especially having read that series first.
Hard to connect with the main character as much but that's probably good considering she goes off the rails there a bit. I love Ferrante's writing so much though and she does flawlessly give voice to "female rage".
This has also been my 3rd book this year with the unexpected death of a dog. Hopefully it is also my last.
